Desmos Graph Showing Parallax Experiment

Wouldn’t it be cool to have goggles that showed you exactly how far away from you a bird or a plane or a planet is? Here’s a first step at understanding the math behind a project like that, basically, understanding parallax. What else would you have to know? Would you have to know the size of the object first?

Autotuning

I recently got to play with some musicians for a rock opera, for the wedding of some friends. One of them made a hilarious song, and auto-tuned it, which inspired me to try it out myself. It’s pretty straightforward in garageband — you can do it too! You just add a vocal track, and then adjust the auto pitch on the lower left part of the screen to 100%. Here’s a ridiculous “song” I made playing around with it:
